!The Challenge

The client received a Request for Proposal from a restructured hospital network that required all IT vendors and healthcare service partners to hold a valid Cyber Essentials (or Cyber Essentials Plus) certificate. The tender deadline was 7 weeks away.

Their existing IT vendor — a general IT support company — had no cybersecurity certification capability and could not assist. A rushed approach to certification risked a first-attempt failure, which would disqualify them from the tender. The stakes were a 3-year service contract estimated at S$480,000 in annual revenue.

The MicroLogic Solution

MicroLogic began with a one-day Cyber Essentials readiness assessment across the 5 domains: Asset Management, Secure Configuration, Patch Management, Access Control, and Malware Protection.

The assessment identified 23 remediation items. The most critical were: Windows systems running without automatic updates (Patch Management), no endpoint protection on 4 clinical workstations (Malware Protection), and shared login credentials used by clinical staff (Access Control).

MicroLogic prioritised remediation items by certification risk, deploying fixes in parallel across domains to meet the compressed timeline. A certified assessor from MicroLogic's partner network conducted the formal Cyber Essentials audit in Week 5.

The client passed on first attempt with no non-conformances. MicroLogic also helped the client apply for CSA's Business Development Fund, recovering approximately 70% of the certification cost.

We had 7 weeks to get Cyber Essentials certified or lose a major contract. MicroLogic got us certified in 5 weeks and helped us recover 70% of the cost through CSA funding. We won the tender. That one decision paid for years of IT security investment.
